Best snow of the week and weather outlook: Central and SW Colorado are currently getting pounded with snow (up to 25 inches already), and the system will spread across the state and continue for the next couple of days.

Colorado is a great to live especially if you like the outdoors! Where else can you hike, fly fish, and ski in the same week! Within the last week, I’ve hiked foothills trails, skied twice, and caught trout fly fishing in the South Platte River (and yes, I also put in a lot of hours working too!). We had temperatures from near 70 in the Denver area to below 0 in the mountains. When the snow isn’t flying there are lots of other activities and that includes many other outdoor (and indoor) activities at the mountain resorts. So, if you have non skiers there is always plenty to do and usually in spectacular settings!

Leader Tip: if some of your people waiver due to pre-trip snow reports many will miss out on good snow conditions. As is currently happening, ski areas can get feet of snow in a hurry and most times that is predicted only a couple days in advance. Some of my best ski days have been days when folks chose to stay home due to what they perceive as poor conditions and the result has been great skiing and less crowds.

Travel Tip: we are proactive with our clients to find the best routes to avoid snowstorms as best as possible. Today we did just that. Let us know if you have any questions on traveling to/from your destination. With our knowledge of the roads alternatives to get to the destinations, along with looking at the storm track, weather and road reports, we can give valuable guidance for the best routes on your particular travel dates.

Future trips: now is a great time to get started for summer family reunions, retreats and rafting trips. Trips tend to be more successful when leaders start early and spread out the payments to make them more affordable. And, for those looking way ahead we’re already booking trips for next ski season!
